Receivables & Sponsored Accounting (RSA) handles creation of Service Centers and External Sales Units, which must be created when a University department wishes to sell goods and services. 

  • Service Center: must be set up when a department wishes to sell goods or services to other University departments.
  • External Sales unit: must be set up when a department wishes to sell goods or services to individuals or entities outside the university, then it must become an external sales unit. 

Either way, appropriate procedures for accepting payments must be followed. The Treasury Management portion of Financial Management Services (FMS) manages payment methods for sale of goods & services.
